Who we are
PublicServicePathway UK is an independent candidate-preparation service operated by Maebh Collins. It is not part of, affiliated with or endorsed by the UK Government or Civil Service. For privacy questions, email hello@publicservicepathway.co.uk.
Data we collect
We collect account details such as your name and email; the target grade and preferences you set; vacancies, evidence examples, practice results and mock-interview reports you choose to save; limited first-party journey events such as a decoder page view, signup step, completed decode, pricing view, checkout start and purchase; acquisition source labels in campaign links; plan and billing status identifiers supplied by Stripe; support messages; consent records; and limited technical and security logs. Stripe processes card details directly and PublicServicePathway UK does not receive or store full card numbers.
How we use it
We use account and preparation data to provide the workspace and tools under our contract with you. We use limited first-party journey events and essential technical and security data for our legitimate interests in understanding whether the core service works, improving it, keeping it reliable and preventing abuse. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to measure visits, navigation and sign-ups. Journey and analytics events do not contain pasted vacancy or evidence text. We use billing records to meet contractual, tax and legal obligations. We send marketing only where you have opted in, and you may withdraw either consent at any time.
Vacancy and evidence text
The Vacancy Decoder sends pasted text to a secure site function solely to return your rules-based analysis; the function does not retain that text. We record that the one free decode was used, but not the vacancy text in that usage record. The vacancy is sent to our database only when you select Save to workspace. Please remove personal details belonging to other people before pasting or saving a vacancy or evidence example. Saved preparation data is private to your signed-in account under database row-level security.
AI mock interviews
When you build a full mock, the selected vacancy, uploaded PDF or pasted job text is sent to Anthropic to extract a role brief, assessed-area map and tailored question plan. We store that extracted plan, not the raw uploaded or pasted source. Answer transcripts are sent to Anthropic so the service can generate a neutral follow-up and the final report. A transcript is held while the interview is in progress and cleared after the report unless you explicitly choose to save it. The report remains in your private practice history. AI feedback can be wrong and is not an official score or pass prediction.
Processors and transfers
We use Supabase for UK account authentication and an EU-West database, Netlify for website delivery and private interview-session storage, Anthropic for AI interview planning and feedback, Stripe for checkout and billing, Google Analytics for consented website measurement, and email providers for service messages. These providers may process limited data in other countries using their contractual and legal transfer safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Preparation data and saved mock reports are kept while your account is active and are deleted when you use the account-deletion control, subject to short operational backups. A full-mock transcript is retained after scoring only when you choose to save it. Billing and transaction records may be retained for up to six years where needed for tax, accounting or legal obligations. Security logs are kept only for a proportionate operational period. Marketing records are kept until you opt out.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to receive portable data. You can update core profile data or delete your account in the workspace, or email us for help. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Storage on your device
The service uses essential browser storage to keep you signed in and, where needed, retain recent practice results on your device. Google Analytics storage is non-essential and is enabled only after you accept analytics. The cookie and browser storage notice explains the technologies, purposes and controls.
